There will be three Yoga classes held at the Quonquont Farm in Whately on Sept 12, 19 & 26th. This Gentle Yoga class will run from 10:15-11:30 am w/ Jody. If you are a new student, the first class is free. The drop-in fee for remaining classes is $14, sign up for both & fee will drop to $12. If you are a current student, class cards can be used. NEW SUMMER CLASS: INTRO TO STAND-UP PADDLE-BOARDING (SUP) & YOGA

When: Weekly on Wednesdays 5:30-7:30pm

Dates available: 6/21, 6/28, 7/5, 7/12, 7/19, 7/26, 8/16, 8/23, 8/30

Where: Ashfield Lake in Ashfield, MA (see calendar page for map)

Cost: $50 for 2 hour class with equipment provided (1 hour of intro to SUP class 1 hour of SUP yoga).  Bring your own equipment for a 1 Hour SUP Yoga class for $16 .

Come join us on a WEDNESDAY night at the ASHFIELD LAKE.  Find some friends who want to try Paddle-Boarding and have some Summer fun. This class will be held from 5:30-7:30 pm, (weather permitting) it will include all equipment needed (paddle-board, paddle & life vest).  Class will start with an intro to SUP (stand-up paddle boarding) with a certified SUP instructor and free time to paddle & explore.  Class will end with Yoga on your board (nothing crazy, just exploring how the "Core" comes into play & mindfully moving into obtainable postures.) We have 5 boards to fill per class.  This class requires booking ahead & reserving your space as a minimum number of participants are required for class to be held.

DO YOU OWN YOUR OWN EQUIPMENT? You can come and join in the second half of class to explore Yoga/Mindful Movement on your board. Please arrive and be on the water by 6:30 pm to meet us. I will start a weekly class for those who own their own boards (3 or more students needed) I look forward to seeing you on the water !! KIDS' SUMMER YOGA SERIES: Connecting to Creative Self

 Location: Pure Yoga and Wellness Studio, 10C Elm Street South Deerfield, MA

 Dates: June 29th, July 13, July 20th and July 27th

 Time:  9:00-11:30 am

 Cost: $30.00 per session,  or sign up for all four sessions for a package price of $100 ($25 per session. )

In this series for children each week we will offer Yoga and a new guest teacher. The morning will start with Yoga to help connect to Self/Creative Self.  We will then move into art projects, creative writing,  jewelry making,  music & hula hooping.   Parents are welcome to stay and join in or just drop off.

Art Making

Guest Teacher: Hannah Harvester, Artist

 Hannah Harvester is a visual artist and art teacher who has worked with children aged 4-14, most recently as the Visual Arts Specialist for the Belmont After School Educational Collaborative in Belmont, MA. She recently completed three months as artist-in-residence at the Rowe Center in Rowe, MA. In October she heads to Bolivia, where she will be artist-in-residence with Sustainable Bolivia and lead art workshops for disadvantaged children in the city of Cochabamba.  She knows she's found a good children's art project when the grown-ups around want to join in. Creative Writing: A Walk To Inspire Writings From Nature

Guest Teacher: Jeannine Atkins, Children's  Author

 Jeanine Atkins the author of many books for children and young people.  In this class she will share with the students that writing can be a joy. She will lead writing prompts, some of which will be based on close-looking at nature, to inspire the writing of poems and the beginnings of stories.

Jewelry Making

Guest Teacher: Jan Bajgier, Jewelry Maker

 Jan Bajgier is a local jewelry maker.  When she first began creating jewelry she utilized a variety of bead types and precious metals.  Her designs were often dictated by the way the beads worked together and evolved as she wired or strung them.  In this class she will work with the children and help them create their own jewelry pieces.  Students will be able to select from a large variety of beads to create bracelets or necklaces by stringing them onto elastic or Beadalon cord.  Jan will also provide head pins and ear wires for making earrings for older students who are comfortable with using jewelry making tools.

Hooping "Free Style" With Live Guitar

Guest Teacher: Nat Gerry and Chelsea Markham

   Nate, who plays the guitar, will play pieces for the kids while they get to hoop "free style" with Chelsea.  Lots of free movement & fun to end the series.   Nate Gerry is a singer-songwriter from the Boston-area with years of experience playing in bands. As a recent graduate from Lesley University with a degree in Psychology, Nate is thrilled to share his lifelong passion for music and healing during his new chapter in the Pioneer Valley.

SPRING WORKSHOP: CONNECT TO CREATIVE SELF/YOGA AND CREATIVE WRITING

 

DATE:  SUNDAY, APRIL 30

TIME: 1:00pm to 4:00 pm

COST: $45.00 - $65.00

Spring time .... A season of transition, when everything in the outer world  is blossoming: new life, new energy, new beginning's, a time for change.  In this workshop we will learn how to tap into our creative self.  Maybe your existing talents need some refreshing or inspiration, or your hidden talents are waiting to be found & are yet to unfold & blossom.  In either case, we will start by combining Gentle Yoga & an exploration & awareness of our second Chakra - our Creativity center.  This exploration will bring your awareness to a deeper level of understanding your creative self & where it resides.  You will be led by local writer/author, Jeannine Atkins, who will guide you through some inspirational exercises, & you will be given short segments of time for writing, poetry, or whatever may come to mind.  This is a time for you to connect to self & see what unfolds.   If weather permits, a walking meditation will be offered for additional inspiration.  The workshop will end with circle/share time (optional) & light snacks/refreshments will be served.

SPECIAL EVENT: "YOGA-HEALING MARATHON" for Tornado relief in Conway

On SUNDAY, MARCH 5, from 9-12:30 Pure Yoga & Wellness Studio will be offering a marathon of Yoga classes held at the FIELD MEMORIAL LIBRARY in CONWAY. Each class will be a half hour long with 15 min in between. All classes & offerings are "donation based" and 100% of proceeds will go towards the Conway Tornado relief. Cash or check donations will be accepted (Checks made out to Conway Firemen's Auxiliary) These Gentle Yoga classes are for everyone, all levels & ages are welcome!!  Even if you are new to Yoga, bring a friend and come join in for relaxation & renewal.  In addition, offering 10-15 min sessions in massage, Reiki & Semie healing techniques that help to relieve any symptoms of pain, trauma, stress & anxiety.

LAST MINUTE! WINTER WORKSHOP: CONNECT TO SELF/ CONNECT TO NATURE

 Winter has finally arrived & with it comes the white fluffy stuff, but with the weather warming up this weekend (in the 40's), I have to act fast while it is still here.  So I am planning a winter workshop for either Friday (2/17) or Saturday (2/18) of this week depending on interest.  If you are interested, contact me by phone or email (413-824-9435 info@pureyogawellness.com) and let me know which day would work for you.  I will be deciding shortly which day it will be. Workshop fee is on a sliding scale $30-$45.

The schedule is as follows:

 3:00- 6:30/7:00

3-3:30 arrival, meet & greet 

3:30/3:45  (gear up & head out around 4:00  (temperature will be warm ,around 40,  it will be lovely)  

4-5:30 (approx)   Easy, gentle Snowshoe around property, exploring the open fields & wooded terrain, we will end around sunset,  offering 15 min of  "walking mediation", journal writing, brief circle to share your experience as we sip on hot beverages, a little soup/ bread , treats. & ending with a gentle stretch &  Restorative Yoga.  Bring winter gear, layers , i have journals but you may have a special one of your own.  Space is limited...     

 If you are new to snowshoeing, no worries, it's fun, easy & the trails we will be on, will already be packed down for you.  I do have a few extra pair of snowshoes available .  It's a wonderful way to get out and enjoy the winter, fresh air & good company.. Come try something new !!

New Winter Classes

The studio is offering several new classes this winter:

Kate P. Is offering a Chair yoga class Mondays 10:30 to 11:30 am.

She is also offering a new yoga series, Pure Yoga Lab: Surya Namaskar Series.  The series is offered in two blocks. See the offerings page for details.  It is not to late to join the first block.

Brianna is offering a yoga class for children ages 5-8 on Tuesday afternoons from 4:00-5:00 pm.

Lisa is offering a new class, Beginner's (Mind) Yoga, on Wednesdays from 5:30-6:45pm.

Kate B. is offering a new weekend class, Sunday Morning Align and Flow, Sundays 9:00-10:15am.

New Year, New Classes

Happy new year everyone!

There are several changes in the schedule at the studio this January, including some new classes. 

On Mondays from 4:00-5:00 pm, starting on the 23rd of January, Kate with be offering a new yoga series.  The class description will be available on the Calendar and Offerings pages soon. 

Kate with also be starting a Monday morning Chair Yoga class on the 23rd, time and details will available soon.

On Tuesdays from 4:00-5:00 pm Brianna is offering a new class, Kids' Yoga.  It looks like it will be a lot of fun.

On Wednesdays from 6:00-7:15 pm Lisa is offering a new class, Beginner's (Mind) Yoga.  This is a class that focuses on the body/mind connection with an emphasis on breathing and restorative postures.

Some classes have been also discontinued in the new year.  Kate is no longer offering After School Yoga and Brianna is no longer offering Vigorous Flow Yoga.

On November 25th "Black Friday"- Pure Yoga and Wellness Studio will be holding a Yogathon to benefit NELCWIT. 

Classes will be by donation only (no class cards) and all proceeds will go to NELCWIT.
