RESTORATIVE YOGA & REIKI offered 1 x month - check calendar page for date - will resume in the fall.
I invite you to slow down & be mindful, after all it's Monday ! To help ease you into your week & bring you to the present moment, we start our practice by "settling in", taping into breath & body awareness. This class will be at a slow & mindful pace, but this doesn't mean it's not challenging at times. As we link breath & movement, we will build heat from the core (our personal powerhouse) and tap into all the support systems within our body. Next, standing and balance postures will be explored. To complete our practice, there will be plenty of time to relax, restore & renew in Savasana. Modifications will be offered to those in need, reminding you to honor your body at all times, as it changes within each moment.
For those interested, 15 minutes of mindful-meditation will be offered.

This class starts with breath work- breath awareness, which will help one prepare for meditation. We will explore different Pranayama techniques (Alternate Nostril breathing- Nadi Shodhana, Navel Flooding Breath, etc) , which will allow one to settle into mind/body and present moment. Our exploration will continue with different meditative practices, such as Concentration Meditation, focusing on a single point-candle, using a mantra- one word that you repeat over & over and "Yoga Nidra", which gently scans the body from head to toe. It is a great entryway into meditation for those who want to develop a practice, as well as a great addition for someone who already has a strong meditation practice but wants to integrate an embodied experience. Reiki healing energy will be offered to the group as a whole throughout the class. Just drop in, it's a great way to start your morning! **ALL ARE WELCOME ** You do not have to be a current student of the Tuesday (10-11:15 class) or Friday (9-10:15 class)
